KANE KOGYO History

KANE, located in Aichi, Japan, is a manufacturer of high quality bronze automatic control valves for domestic, municipal, and industrial water and wastewater applications.

KANE's roots date back to 1924 when the company was organized under the name Sashikane. Kaneichi Ito then established the company in 1954 in Nagoya, Japan (one of Japan's largest cities) as KANEKOGYO Limited Corporation. At that time, the main products that the company dealt in were burners and stop-cock valves. With the sudden passing of Kaneichi, his daughter took the helm of the company at which time a program to modernize the plant and machinery began and the focus turned strictly to float valves. A technical tie-up with the TOTO group was formed to further the development of our float valves.

The following years saw great development and growth in the company. As Kane looked to expand internationally it increased its facilities both domestically in Japan and internationally at its plant in the Qingdao region of China. Some other international valve companies sought to strengthen ties with KANE in order to gain access to the fast growing Asian market (such as CLA-VAL and Febco). However KANE managed to maintain its own brand and quickly developed an international reputation for high quality.

KANE also saw the establishment of several group companies including:
SUN-LIVING Co. Ltd.
UNION GRINDING STONE Co., Ltd.
UPC Co., Ltd.
Quindao UPC Co., Ltd.
Quindao KKK Co., Ltd.
KANE now boasts a wide range of products including (but not limited to) Pressure Reducing Backflow Preventers, Dual Check Valves with Drain Units, Water Hammer Eliminators, Float Valves, Motor Valves, Air Vent Valves, Solenoid Valves, Relief Valves, Check Valves, Anti-Freezing Valves, Automatic Mixing Valves, and Pressure Reducing Valves. We are also able to supply a multitude of lost wax items to customers in need of investment casting.
